Now French politicians are destroying their great electricty system by phasing out their nuclear reactors and replacing them with wind and solar farms, why??? The wind and solar: carbon footprint is 5 and 10 times higher, respectively, than nuclear - so wind and solar is dirty compared to nuclear electricity price is much higher than that of nuclear mostly due to: 1) the greatly increased cost of building grids for wind and solar farms and 2) since wind and solar are highly unreliable which means that a country needs to have 100 % backup power (with reliable electricity sources such as nuclear, hydro, gas, coal, biomass) when there is no wind and no sun.
