In September 2020, Tesla announced that it would be phasing out the use of cobalt in its batteries, in an effort to produce a US$25,000 electric vehicle within three years. But it is noteworthy that Tesla is STILL using Co for their batteries. It is interesting to note that Elon Musk being so much for the environment has been using child labors for so many, many years and still do and even worse that people buy the electric cars. Of course Elon Musk is producing Tesla not for the environment but to make money but it is up to the customers to refuse buying cars that explot childen.

See three tragic movies about what is happening in Africa to produce the minerals for electric cars such as Tesla.
